The regular expression field in the OutletScanner software might be a bit confusing. Hopefully this thread will clear up some of the confusion.
Basically it is just a powerful means of searching for only the systems with parameters that you would like. Below is a sample listing of what is displayed in a system listing on the Outlet inventory page: $1,289.00 | XPS 600 | Pentium - 3000 | Genuine Windows XP Media Center 2005 | 250 GB EIDE Hard Drive (7200RPM) | 1000 | DVD-ROM | 256MB Nvidia GeForce 6800 Graphics Card | MiniTower Choose what you want in a system, say, a Dell XPS system with XP Media Center, and a Geforce 6800 video card. From left to right, put the parameters in the regular expression box, separated by a .* so for the example above you could use: XPS.*Media Center 2005.*GeForce 6800 If you need any help creating your own regular expression, please post in this thread and I or another user will be sure to help you! little help please - trying to grab a XPS 1210, do I need XPS or is 1210 good? would also like it to be a Core 2 Duo, so is Core 2 enough or require the whole Core 2 Duo? not sure if the M for M1210 is needed and include the XPS+ like the others are currently listed?
XPS.*1210.*Core 2 XPS.*M1210.*Core 2 M1210.*Core 2 Duo XPS+M1210.*Core 2 Duo thanks for any recommendations on the above! Last edited by paid4 : 11-27-2006 at 10:27 PM. |

Enter the xps m1330 in the model number field. Then try using WXGA for the regular expression field.

HI, First let me thank you for creating this application. It is VERY COOL! I have grown tired of constantly checking the Dell web site "by hand", so this is a real timer saver.
I am a first time user (v 5.2). I have noticed that for the regexp I have tried, only the first system is found that meets the criteria. Is this a feature or a bug? |
