Default Outlet Scanner version 4.3

Please use the new version 5.0 for all of the latest features!

EDIT: Updated with new version: 4.3. Please download the new file. This one will remember the size and position of the application and open the same way the next time it opens.

Can a few people test this version and give it a try for me?

You'll still need to have the .net framework installed if you haven't already installed it. There are now only four files needed, and the file size is quite a bit smaller.

Anyway, give it a try :)

It's got a new look, the lockup problems should be all gone, and the scanner will pop to the front when the image validation is needed. Think those are the main improvements.

Thanks!

looks like I didn't get more than 10 refreshes until program stopped
changing time didn't restart the refreshing process
I hit STOP and then START and program froze

I'm not too crazy over new look as well
I have to maximize the window in order to see the VERIFICATION IMAGE
or scroll down

It will stop refreshing when it gets to the verification point. I had problems where it would get to the verification, I'd be typing the verification, and it would find another system, try to add it and then reload the verification page.

I'm open to suggestions to how to make that process any better.

I'll have to look into the stop start thing... How long did you wait between presses, did it say "application stopped" in the status before you pressed start? Maybe there's a timing thing there.

Version 4.3 has been updated it to make the browser box bigger to help show the verification. Also, the scanner will start the same way every time, so once you get it the way you want it, it will start that way the next time.

Thanks for the inputs!

Try going into a regular IE window and adjusting your security parameters to be a lower setting: Tools->Internet Options -> Security -> Internet and choose low and give that a try.

See this post for an explanation of the regular expression: link
(you can probably just leave it blank)

I've been testing it for an hour or so
it's been working fine so far

you didn't fix the VIDEO CARD / SCREEN SZ mixup
when you go to set video card size you see screen size options and vice versa

looks like the program stops after the catch
you have to click stop and change time then click start again
it works fine that way, and so far I didn't get these double captcha images when I start typing first one and second pops in
would be nice if program started refreshing again after finishing with the capcha and you're back at the cart screen

Don't open any other windows to dell outlet while the scanner is running. I think that message is sent when two accesses to the outlet happen at the same time.

Smile Search description as well?

Is it possible to add a feature which would allow the search to include if a laptop has TrueLife or UltraSharp? I know the database Dell does not use that as a query parameter, which is sad.

rd078833

unfortunately, since Dell doens't show whether or not the screen is an untrasharp on the inventory page, there is no easy way to search by that.

The only way would be to individually load all the detail pages of each system, which would drastically reduce the scanning time.

It couln't tell the difference of Ram and CPU if I operate correctly.
For example, I need 2G laptop, however, all the laptops in my cart are 1G.
Does anyone have the same problem?

You're trying to select systems with 2 gig of ram? I think that should work. I'll check it out.
