Smile Request for Smitts part 2!

Thanks Smitts for your wonderful script for the Bonnie Give and Get promotion. Haven't lost an opportunity to get an item yet.

As some of you may know, there is another promotion going around provided by AARP. Of course not all of us are older than 50 years of age, but you can still become a member nontheless.

The promotion is specifically through Everydaysavingscenter.com. You cant view the information unless you are an AARP member (12.95 per year, you can sign up)

Since I cannot link you guys, I'll sum up the deals:

Mon - $400 off $700 at Lenovo.com
Tue - $300 off $500 at Homedepot.com
Wed - $700 off $1200 at Sonystyle.com !!!!!
Thur - $300 off $500 at bluenile.com
Fri - $100 off $200 at sonystyle.com

As you can see, theres a different deal for Monday through Friday. Today, the Home Depot offer $300 off $500 sold out extremely fast. I clicked the sucker at 12pm EST, but got shafted in the end.

I am wondering if a script can be put together to refresh/and auto click the button to "reserve" one of the deals?

I know its not ebay, and I am a complete newb at this stuff, but I think its easier to do? Since its not searching for items as it is just clicking exactly at 12.

If you need more information, id be happy to provide it to you as well as my login information if you wanted to check the site out.

Thanks for all your hard work Smitts.

PM me the login information and I'll see how much work is involved... Not sure I'll have much time this week though.

Took a quick look... I don't think I have time to put together what is necessary for a scanner for this this week.

I'd recommend check4change checking every second in a few different browser windows on the text "Coming Soon".

That's what I think I'd have to implement anyway, since I'm not 100% comfortable with making sure that the cookies track, and if I did it all in the background, you wouldn't ever know whether it really "worked" or not.

I'd hate to see someone spend $1200, expecting to get $700 back and not getting it because of a bug in the scanner.

I could see someone getting angry !

:( Well, I think by clicking on the link you reserve a link through which to buy something for yourself. So maybe it's not that dangerous? But it's cool... I'll probably try the C4C strategy myself...

As what Coot is saying, that is correct. As long as that link is clicked to reserve, you are directed to a totally different page with a separate link to shop with. You get 3 days to shop, the reservation is what matters. No need to worry about people not getting their money because of some bug ^_^ Thanks.

Coot,
I snagged this deal too. Did you receive any type of confirmation after you entered in your credit card info?

For those under 50, did you use your own birthday when joining?

Sorry to say that doesn't apply to me. There's one advantage to being 50.... AARP!

I'm not seeing the Buy link. Was yours available right away or was there a delay? And I also didn't get an email. However, there is a temp charge on my credit card.

Thanks

I was able to make one up. But now they have a password system where you have to enter the membership number and I was stupid and forgot to write it down. Crap. I need the AARP # associated with my account to change the password...
