If you\'re looking for a reliable random-orbit sander capable of fast, even material removal without bogging down, this sander is a great choice. Porter-Cable\'s electronic, variable-speed, 3.7 amp motor provides 2,500 to 6,000 orbits per minute. The right-angled gearing produces consistent speeds even when you\'re pressing it down into the work. We found this model to offer relatively little vibration for a sander capable of fast material removal, and the large barrel grip was easy on the hands during long-duration applications. While this sander uses hook-and-loop paper, an adhesive-paper pad is also available. This variable-speed model can work with either eight- or five-hole paper, comes equipped for dust collection, and can attach to standard 1-1/2- or 2-1/2-inch vacuum hoses.
